Seismic joint is designed to amortise a large and violent movement in
all directions. Usually it is installed in very large gaps in all public
buildings. In many countries, seismic activity in the form of
earthquakes and tremors has a huge impact on the design and construction
of buildings. These special joints connections, work by developing
specified resisting moment that enables the connection to maintain its
original geometry when under seismic stress. Proper design of these
connections is imperative, and structures that perform well in
earthquakes are the result.

The Miska NHS80 is a waterproof joint system designed for both internal
and external vertical wall and soffit applications.
A significant movement range of ± 55mm is catered for with provision for
lateral and vertical movement during seismic events.
Installation requirements are minimal and a block out of 80mm wide x
70mm deep will ensure a flush finish with surrounding levels. The use of
Santoprene in both seals resists moisture and chemical attack whilst
providing an aesthetically pleasing architectural finish. This seal can
be supplied in a limited colour range to match external facade
materials. Covers gap sizes 5-105mm
